If eyes are considered the windows to the soul, then it could be said that windows are a home’s pathway to peace — especially when one selects a high-quality product. Wieland Builders, an award-winning custom home builder in Cincinnati, focuses on quality craftsmanship, which is why they install Pella windows in the majority of their projects.
“Pella is a long-time partner of Wieland Builders,” says Jeff Wieland, president and co-owner of Wieland Builders. “We are always proud to recommend their products to our clients because of their superior quality and wide selection.”
Ashby Manor, a luxurious 5,175-square-foot 2018 Homearama home, is a four-bedroom, 4 1⁄2 -bath house that snagged numerous awards, including Favorite Kitchen, Favorite Exterior, Favorite Master Suite, Favorite Outdoor Living, Favorite Dining Room, and Favorite Master Bathroom.
Nathan Madden, Pella Trade Sales manager, describes Ashby Manor as a southern style-themed home with a transitional country chic interior.
“In choosing the correct window [for each room], we wanted to make sure to match the exterior architecture of the project while still keeping the thin, sleek lines on the interior,” says Madden. “The Pella Lifestyle Series window kept with the design roots of the project as it is a wood window. The double hung was chosen as what would be traditional for a southern style home with classic grill pattern. The interior of the Lifestyle, with thin rails, allowed for accurate design application and large amounts of light to enter the space, while the dark exterior color provided the nice contrast against the traditional stone and wood slat exterior.”
A focal point of the home is the breathtaking rear patio. The 16’ x 8’ sliding door that leads to it elevates the outdoor space to a whole other level, both from an interior and exterior perspective, by blending the two spaces.
“The quality of the glass all the way down to the trim work and the panes is just amazing,” says Wieland. “That brings a nice elegance to the overall project and helps marry the indoor and outdoor spaces.”
The overall aesthetic of the exterior was also elevated by Pella products, with its darker navy color paired with the black-paned windows and white trim to create a striking yet polished appearance.
“Ashby Manor’s style was inspired by southern homes with big wrap-around porches,” says Wieland. “We knew that blending the indoor and outdoor living spaces would be important with this floor plan, and Pella Windows & Doors enabled us to really elevate that seamless transition from interior to exterior.”
